Duragloss 501

I do not consider 501 an AIO as I do not see any cut when I use it, I personally call it a cleaner/sealant. I really like how well it cleans paint and it lasts a long time as well. I use it on paint, wheels, exhaust tips, glass....

So you see it as a cleaner with sealant properties. Would this be a good product for a daily driver ??? I need something to put on my Tahoe that sits outside. I don't want to polish it because it really does not need it. I have Zaino AIO and DG501 in my tons of detailing supplies. I think I have everything that has been favored on this forum..... Wish I could sale some of it cause there is no way I will use it all. Thanks!!!

I'd start using the 501 right after you ran out of ZAIO.

WTH? Why no more "Yakky"?:nixweiss

Maybe its just me, but I always saw 501 and KAIO as similar products. ZAIO sounds more like a Poli-seal type all-in-one, so I never bothered with it.

501 is very good stuff. It has a super cleaner in it . Bottom line , the best stuff out there considering price is DG501, DG105, and Collinite 845. As a matter of fact 501 followed with 845 is a killer combo.

The polish in ZAIO is not very strong at all. I do think 501 has an abrasive, at least it appears to be functionally abrasive. The reason is ZAIO looks great. Its deep, its wet and its smooth. The fact that its twice as expensive doesn't bother me. I've really spent a lot of time comparing these two on various cars. I find it funny that people will spend $50+ on a carnauba but will balk at the price of a $25 sealant, and one that goes a LONG way.

I'm certainly not knocking 501, I like it too, but its not in the same league. If ZAIO was out of the picture, I don't think my next goto would be 501. Everytime I use ZAIO I ask myself... why is it exactly I bother with other stuff. I do need to do some more comparisons with DG101 as the look I get from it is very similar to ZAIO.

Yakky is gone, I wanted to have my first name and my id, Dave and Ben hooked me up!

Yakky err Dan :)

While I did use ZAIO on my Yellow Super Bee I also used KAIO and both cleaned great. I actually (slightly) prefered the look of KAIO with it's crisp/clear look.

I am going to do my Winter car soon and will compare ZAIO vs DG 501 as my Brother recently picked up some Duragloss.

If they are close I will be buying Duragloss 501 as I can purchase it for $6.99 vs $26.95 for ZAIO.

Jeff

Cool, looking forward to your comparison. And you are right indeed, KAIO has a very crisp look where ZAIO has a wet shimmering carnauba like look. DG501 is certainly more crisp, you may find you like that better.

I'm sorry for the confusion, I was comparing 501 to Klasse AIO, not Zaino AIO. How would ZAIO compare to Poli-Seal?

I know you were comparing it to KAIO. I think KAIO and DG501 look similar. ZAIO is different, as stated above.

I see no correcting abilities in 501, on a DD that sits outside it is perfect. I use 501 mixed with 601, 4oz of 501 mixed with 1 oz of 601 and it is great, sometimes top with a carnauba for added looks

Certainly not trying to start a battle here, but here is the word directly from the horse's mouth (Bill):

"Thanks for the great comments! DG501 has the most functional abrasive; next would be DG105, and the least DG101"

I tried out a few of the DG products between my fingers this morning and this certainly seems true. Then I grabbed ZAIO and it felt even more coarse.

i think duragloss is equal to zaino and in some cases better!!

To me,There's not much difference between Zaino Z8 and Duragloss AW for sure. Z8 MIGHT look a little better or be a little slicker, but AW is half the price. 901 is a better car wash than Z7 to me,but I love both of them.

So in your experience, does ZAIO correct more than 501? (I have several DG products coming from AG).

I would *guess* so, but I really haven't compared well. When I did my head to head review, I was testing cleaning ability, which ZAIO won. It would have been easy enough to grab the paint gauge and test them head to head but I didn't think about it.
