duragloss 101 or 105?

Which would be better for a one-step? How do they compare in gloss, durability, and abrasiveness?

I can only answer for the DG105....This past weekend I did the following......

Wash

clay

KAIO

DG 105 2X -waited 12 hours between coats

Dg AW -the following day

My car came out great....nice wet shine.....so far I m satisfied.:grinno:

I realise 101 has much better cleaning than 105. I would use 101 follow by 105 and aw. Finishing my 101, should be grabbing a bottle of 501 to test it out. Heard good reviews about 501 tho.

I really like the 501 (the amped up Marine version of 101). I have used that as a one step and topped with DWG. 105 is not bad either but the 501 is money. Darn good shine in its own right and an excellent cleaner polish.

Ditto. I was told that 105 has the most cleaning ability followed by 101, followed by 111.

Maybe its in the eye of the beholder (what isn't with detailing...) . When I use 501 the pad gets pretty black. Not so much with 105.

Your statment is correct and IMO is not open for discussion nor has anyone claimed contrary on this thread.. 501 has TONS more cleaning power than 105 OR 101

The obvious confusion comes in when comparing 101 vs 105

Hasn't this been beaten to death many times? We know what DG has said. However, many of us who have used both , beleive 101 has better cleaning. That's not to say that DG has not tested their products. They are both great.

Kind of hard to argue with the chemists' who have developed it though.

But I will let this sleeping dog lie sleep.......

^ So true. I shouldn't have really provided any input. But this has been discussed many times. I've only used 105 on 2 cars --- and it was always after 101 (or old 108). Thus, I can't really attest to 105s cleaning ability. Sorry. I actually like the old, discontinued SUV Polish 108 the best out of the 3. It was the same price as 101, but twice as large. My Carquest may still have some:). I've been wanting to try the marine line, but I have too much 101/108/105 to use up.

Incorrect , 105 is the heaviest cleaner , 101 is the middle cleaner /

sealant , 111 pure sealant.
