durable wax or sealant after d151.

Hey guys happy new year to everyone!. hope i don't get too boring but here is the story am starting to detail for small dealership (about 9-10 cars per month) and after their current detailers (I might start working for them in week or less) they wax with some cheap wax that doesn't hold up even 1-2 month. they asked me to put some stronger wax or sealant after polish to hold at least 3 months. what good wax or sealant will bond to d151? am thinking insulator wax 845?

845 sounds like an excellent choice. Another possibility, at an even better price: Duragloss 105. Both should give the dealership the kind of durability they are looking for. I would think that either would adhere just fine to the D151.

My opinion is, if you are doing two steps, use the two best products. I think topping an AIO is silly when you can use something stronger like M105 or UNO as your first step and then cover with a good sealant. You really have to think abiut the best use of your time, and two protection steps is not it. That said, 845 or any of the duragloss products would work fine on top of D151.

yea...for now thinking KBM M105 to streamline and top with 845

though, if the new polishing system is what I hope it is, then it shouldn't be a problem

I'd go with Optimum Car Wax over D151. Works well and has decent durability on its own. Plus the slickness and appearance are top notch. You can even use it to remove D151 as you buff to save time.

what scott said if you are in a hurry, or you need to get to a second car,

or 845 if you have the time

but as mentioned, I would rather go with a polish then a wax rather than an AIO which doesnt have all that much cut compared to a dedicated polish. something like menzerna SIP (pricey, i know) or the like (good cut, better finish than 105, but less cut obviously)

but why not a sealant if durability is an issue? BFWD looks really good and lasts longer!

prima banana gloss is really good as well for a wax...its a 2 month wax, but it looks amazing and can go over trim without white stains

Fk1000p is real value for money durability

I really enjoy FK1000P too, however fast and easy aren't two adjectives I would use when it comes to it :D .

I have found FK 1000p to be an easy protectant to apply, certainly no more difficult than most of the other waxes/sealants I have used, and because it is a hard wax I have found it easy to apply thin. Of course, one does need to allow it to haze, which means that it is not as quick as the WOWOs or the WOWAs. Nor have I found 1000p in any way difficult to remove. It is certainly a much easier sealant to use than, say, NXT. But perhaps ambient conditions affect it differently in ways I have not yet experienced.

I applied 1000p in early October to our CR-V. The car has been washed multiple times, including two commercial washes over the past over the past few weeks. The sealant is still holding up well. I'm quite pleased. I'm curious to see how well the sealant survives over the next two to three months. The car is garaged, but it is a daily driver.

I guess everything is relative, but comparing 845 to FK1000P, you have polar opposites as far as ease of use yet both offer similar protection and durability. 845 can be applied thick, it can be applied thin, it glides on, glides off, is easy to get onto the applicator, etc. FK1000P is tolerable if you play within its parameters.

I thought sealants have to go on clean surface? ;( d151 has lil of filling in it.
