Duo-fiber Glass Towel

Well, after reading some reviews on Autotopia I decided to go out and buy some Meguiar's Duo Fiber Glass Towels. Wow! They are great. I hate cleaning windows especially the inside and these towels make it a breeze. So, thanks to all who posted positive reviews.

I'm glad to see that others are having some luck with these towels. After the first wash, mine came apart at the seam. After 3 washes, it was still linting.

I think the concept is good, but the quality could use some improvement. Then again, maybe they have improved them... I'll try another one. :D

Great towel but too big. MFs like to grab on glass and it ends up unfolding on me. I prefer smaller towels for glass.

same here. megs sent me another and it did almost the same thing. i have a brand new one (bought two at first) and i don't even want to use it, because it will probably fall apart... once again. *hint* anyone want to trade something for it?* :lol

UPDATE: I finally got around to washing my duo fiber towels after I used both of them. One of them pretty much fell apart in the washing machine. So, I wrote an email to Meguiar's. They got back to me the same day and stated that they had had a production issue with the towels, but that it has been corrected. They offered to either refund my money or send me two new towels. So, I have two new towels on the way at no charge.

The same thing happened to me with the Megs Glass Towel. It linted like crazy and started to fall apart. I called Megs Customer Service and they said that they had a "bad batch" of the towels. They are sending me out 2 towels at no charge. :bigups

they sent u a new one? i bought 2 of the regular MF's (the yellow ones with the satin border) and they lint LIKE CRAZY....and they werent exactly inexpensive either...so i use them now only for my wheels. do you think that if i call them i could get 2 new ones to replace the ones i have?

I bought some of the yellow ones too. I don't have any problems with them linting. I think they are replacing our duo-fiber towels because they fell apart. You could try emailing them and complaining. They may send you new towels or they may not. However, if you are getting a lot of lint make sure you wash your MF's seperate from your other towels if you are not already doing so.

Yes...their Customer Care Department is great.

i agree with u scott on this.......i cant stand a M/F for windows! i use surgical towels no streaks, no lint period.(tis what a surgical towel is made for :D )

ANOTHER UPDATE: After two weeks passed . . . no new towels were received. I sent the customer care rep an email. He stated the replacement towels were never shipped for some reason. So, he sent me out two more towels plus a FREE :woot: bottle of Megs NXT glass cleaner. I received a UPS tracking number by email the same day and I'm expecting everything to arrive today about three days later.

More companies should have customer service like Megs. I don't even care that the towels initially bought fell apart and the replacements were never shipped. I'm getting two new towels and glass cleaner and that's fine with me.

I don't like these either, the NXT glass spray isn't very good too, can't say I'm a big fan of many Megs products. :(

Wow, that's first complaint that I have ever heard about the GC. I love the NXT GC, it is all that I use now.

Same for me. I think the NXT Glass Cleaner is the best I have ever used.

Me either rob

What they brought to australia in the late 80's was way ahead of all other brands on the aussie market and some of them, although not made anymore are actually better than their current line up

However I received their new gold class accessories DVD from david bynon and am really impressed with their brushes lineup

Every brand makes some crap from time to time and for me NXT line is one of them but if they do to the liquid products what they have done to the brushes, they will be on the way back up

However I still believe that there are some products from a dozen autopian brands that are superior to the meg's equivalent

As for glass cleaner - I don't use a dedicated cleaner like stoners or meg's as they will remove the sealants on the glass.

Quik shine mixed 50/50 with detailers pride (new label) final gloss booster equals a glass cleaner that tops up the sealants on the glass

I use a detailers paradise ultra suede MF to apply and pakshak waffle weave glass towel to do final wipes

A monster fluffy is another good one.

I tried a little of the NXT GC this afternoon. It was pretty good. I thought it was equal to IG. However, I think Sprayway trumps both of them. I haven't tried my new Duo fibers yet, but the old ones would lint like crazy on the glass. The new ones seem to be thicker, fluffier, and a tighter weave. So hopefully, they'll work better. Otherwise, Megs will be hearing from me again.

I tried the NXT glass cleaner with the duo-towel and thought both were very poor. Broke out my usual Pakshak WW glass towel and Quickshine and it was like night and day, the QS superior by a long way - threw the megs stuff in the bin.
