Drying: Blot or Pull?

Any thoughts on this? I'm sure "pulling" is frowned upon here:D Seriously, i'm using a big blue waffle weave MF for drying. Any harm in pulling or is blotting the preffered method? I try to blot as much as possible, but GENTLY pulling on some spots would be much quicker.

You're probably going to get told by those more Autopian than myself to blot. HOWEVER, as for myself, I have no worries about Big Blue scratching the paint; any morseo than I do about removing wax with the other microfibers. And yes, I have 1000 watt halos in the garage, and I've checked for scratches after/while drying. None to date. Mebbe I'm just lucky.

as long as you inspect your ww towel frequently, then I don't see why not. Heck, I find blotting takes forever, and I just pull with the ww, with no scratches whatsoever.

I suppose it depends in part on the environment in which you are working. Even though I have just washed the car, I detail outside next to the road so there is a risk of dust and dirt sticking to the wet car. This makes me prefer to blot instead of wipe, but then again I also tend to use a CWB so that means I am completely inconsistant! :)

I pull...As long as you are using a high quality waffle weave or MF towel to dry with I don't see any issue with swirls or marring.

I just use a leaf blower to blow off as much water as possible then follow up with a waffle weave.

I am a squeege man and then I dry with MF towel and no problems. I am not sure what is meant by blot or pull can someone explain?

I pull. This reminds me I want to order a few towels and a WW from Pakshak for x-mas. Maybe some for me uncle too seeing he's still using old bath towels for everything.

I'll admit it. I pull. My car and the towel is clean with no damage yet. I'll take more care after I get rid of all my swirls.

I pull.

I don't understand why pulling would be a problem? You rub microfiber towels along your paint to remove waxes, polish, and QD. If you use quality MF that is clean it doesn't cause a problem. Why would it be different for drying?
