Drying Aid/Protectant better than Reload?

I`m happy using Reload diluted by 50% as a drying aid. It also seems to add some protection, but is getting expensive. Any suggestions for a drying aid that adds protection that is more affordable?

A lot of people seem to use a WOWA like Optimum Opti-Seal...or maybe I just spend too much time on the Optimum forum. Over there they use Opti-Seal and Hyper Seal. A WOWA seems like an excellent idea for this use, I guess the others still around are Zaino Z-CS...and it seems like the Wolfgang and Blackfire products are gone, although they do have a $50 Wolfgang spray coating, and both have an SiO2 spray product. I think the Ultima WOWA is still around, but I don`t know where you can get it. There is also of course DuraGloss AquaWax, which is kind of designed for this purpose, and always worked well.

Are you planning to use this for conventional or rinseless wash?

I`m sure you will get plenty of other opinions.

More expensive but i`ve been very impressed with NV Boost V2 for both dry and wet applications.

Hundreds of options.
 
Contrary to most I was a big fan of Reload and never really had the issues some had with it at least here in Ohio. I haven`t tried the newest formula simply because I have found other products that get me the results I want at a more cost effective price. I did try it as a drying aid but I mostly used it as a post wash booster when dry.


My vehicles are coated so using spray sealants and detailers for me is more for the slickness and gloss than it is about really extra protection.


While some think that P&S Beadmaker is an over hyped and over rated product I bought and tested is and found it good as a post wash drying aid that give a little extra gloss and protection than say a regular quick detailer but not as much as a regular dedicated spray sealant. And looking at the cost I can get 1 gallon of Beadmaker for basically the same price as the 500ml (16.9oz) bottle of Reload.

My current most used drying aid is actually McKee`s 37 SiO2 Rinseless Wash. I like that it is made to be diluted and used as different product so I can use it as my Rinseless Wash as well as my waterless wash/ quick detailer. I find that because it is a cleaner as well it helps in removing any water marks from washing and the Si02 part adds the gloss and slickness I am looking for.
 
I just started using Armour Detail Amplify based on a recomendation from Guz.

I really like it. Very easy to apply in just about all conditions and I really like the looks.

I suppose "what LSP it`s going on over top of" factors in here, but IME you could do a lot worse than just using a leaves-stuff-behind rinseless wash. When I started using IUDJ at QD-strength for my Drying Aid, I did notice a little extra pop and at least a minimal sacrificial layer. Hey, it can take bare paint from "obviously bare, water just sits there" to "hey, almost looks waxed, and the water beads up now".
 
TWHS WET WAX. Been using it for years. After every wash. My favorite product. It will amp up the look and add some real protection. So easy to use. 1-2 sprays per wet panel then dry.
