Drunk 4 Year Old Steals Christmas.....

Greetings from a newbie!

I luckily stumbled across this forum a few weeks back shortly after buying a new Passat. I've tried all kinds of polishes/waxes in the past and never found one that seemed to last more than a month or so. (My car is parked outside most of the time.) After I bought the Passat (2001.5 Colorado Red), I found a new desire to keep this car perfect as long as possible, and was very happy to find this forum. I read the archives with intent for a couple of days, and decided to try out the Klasse products.

I also have a couple of old VW cars ('56 Bug and a '57 Bus), that I wanted to get a true super-gloss look. I was entering the Bug is a car show that same weekend and ordered a combo kit of AIO and SG from TACS. Because they were out of the 16oz bottles, he sent the 32oz bottles for the same price! I was very impressed with their friendliness and willingness to ship the product fast so that I could use it that weekend.

Anyhow, the following week, I followed the suggestions on the forum here, and stripped the Passat down with Dawn and did 2 AIOs and 3 SGs over the course of the next couple of days. Now the Passat already looked fantastic, but WOW! It now has such a rich shine, and the paint is slippery and so smooth.

This last week, after deciding to sell my wife's 96 Integra GSR, I decided to give it the treatment. I must say my impression of AIO as a _cleaner_ is somewhat poor. It does not remove much in the way of sap or bug guts that my wash job did not get. In contrast, my past experience with Meguiar's Cleaner Wax is very different. Meguiars seems to get all that kind of crap off the car very easily. I didn't notice this AIO issue with the Passat, since the paint was pretty much perfect already.

Anyhow I stripped down the Integra and after my experience with her car, I personally think the Acura black and dark green paints are trashy. (My overall opinion of her car is that it is a freaking tin can that is soooooo loud on the freeway....but is fun to vtec up to 8000rpm...) Hers is dark green and it chips easy and has swirl marks. Anyhow, even though the AIO didn't do too much in the cleaning department, her car looks 1000 times better. It has a much glossier look, and the swirls are gone.

I read up on claying the car, and found a Mother's clay kit, which seems to be fairly well recommended (better than the Meguiar's stuff). I plan to try this on her car this weekend, as her car has all kinds of contaminants and problems. I want to see if am up to the challenge of making a poor looking car look new again. I'll post before and after pictures if I get a chance. Sad to do this just before selling it, but I am curious to learn how well the clay bar does in smooting the paint out.

Anyhow, my experience with Klasse on my Bug was fantastic. It now has a great shine and was very well received at the car show.

Thanks to everyone on the forum for their insight!

Awesome pic of the passat! Welcome to the forum :)

That bug looks just like the one on front of some of the old rocky mountain motorworks catalogs. Hehe, I used to have a 69 Karmann Ghia had lots of those books around.

Welcome to the Forum.

The Passat looks awesome! Your on the right track to a great looking vehicle, and this is the place to learn.

Read the archives and detailing tips, and you will understand why the Bug didn't clean up as well. You might have tried a paint cleanser like you find at CMA, our host site. Or you might have tried the P21 paint cleanser. They do a great job in cleaning up the surface.

Some of us also like to like clay the finish before putting on the AIO and the SG. If you need more abrasives than that to make the Bug shine, well, read the archives. It contains a wealth of info.

Again welcome, and don't be afraid to ask questions. We have some very knowledgabe detailers on this site. Enjoy!

Welcome, fellow Utahan. Good choice on the Klasse but bad choice on selling the GSR. ;) Maybe we will meet at a car wash someday. :)

Klasse's chemical cleaners are not meant for large bugs and sap. For larger surface contaminates use clay and for sap and grease stains use a tar remover if nessisary. Klasse's cleaner polishes are mild and are meant to help the condition of the paint (i know for a fact that AIO is used in bodyshops to help clean away oxidation). Klasse makes a car shine like hell but wont take care of swirls or as you have mentioned, larger cleaning problems, so us obsesive maniacs use many many steps of clay, polish, klasse, wax which takes time but yeilds incredible results!. ...if you think the car feels good now, wait till you feel iwhen it's been clayed before hand. Also, i feel that topping klasse with a wax is more important than putting many layers of SG on the car. I try to wait over night before applying another coat of SG and end up doing about two (three if i have lots-a time). This helps the surface shine and clarity while adding small amounts of depth. Afetr the first layer of Blitz wax though, the shine took on a noticably deeper, wetter look that complimented the clarity of the klasse. I would recomend putting a non cleaner wax over the klasse but its completely up to you. BTW, cars look awesome and i love the beatle.

A 4-year old boy, beer in hand is accused of stealing Christmas presents from his neighbors. Its a strange story, but also a sad one :(

April Wright is 21 years old and is going through a divorce from her husband who is in jail. She says she is not sure how her 4 year old got out of the house, opened a beer and stole the neighbors Christmas presents from under there tree :Gift:

The child, Hayden Wright was found wandering around his neighborhood at 1:45am Tuesday. In police reports, they say he was wearing a little girls dress and drinking a beer :out:

Wright says she woke up at 1:45 that morning and noticed her son had made a break for it. Somehow he had managed to break the safety device off the doorknob and get outside :wizard:

Once out, Wright said her 4 year old folowed his fathers footsteps and was found on Blue Spruce Rd, drinking a half empty beer

"He runs away to find his father" she said. He wants to get in trouble so he can go to jail because thats were his daddy is :cursing:

Okay, so have any of you ever watched the Rug Rats (you have to have kids)? I always said how rediculous that show was, because the parents never knew where their kids were and what they were doing (of course, it was a cartoon). These parents must have spent a lot of time watching the Rugrats:devil:
