Dreaming up new taxes

So now they are talking a mileage tax. When you go for your State inspection, safety, emission etc. they will record your odometer. The next time you go they will record it again and tax you on the mileage. So what is next ?. Measure breast size, Booty size, junk size and tax your body. One thing these people have plenty of is time to dream up more ways to get in our pockets. As I remember people that did not agree with over taxation threw a big party. Maybe time to refresh their memories. All of this is on top of the present fuel tax and Obama's charge he wants to put on a barrel of oil.

That should lower the population faster than Obama Care. The Mortician business would really start thriving. Of course that would leave more room for illegal's. Do I sound sarcastic ?

I didn't picture that in Arizona as the highways don't get much abuse , maybe way up north, but as far as road taxes, they really need to find money in the north and northeast as the roads really suck!
Here in Florida they are overall in good shape and that's why Florida , Arizona and many southern states do not keep the Federal 55 speed limit and take Federal hwy money. I guess with the low prices of gas the Feds and States are watching their % of the tax money dwindle and are looking for a way to make up as gas prices probably will not go back to where they were with the excess supply available around the world ... crazy dilemma that politicians get put into to make budgets work ...
 
So I understand this will be nation wide so you will pay it wherever you live. The roads in Az. are deteriorating but it is a known fact that money for road repair was stolen for other things in Az. So like Social Security the promise of putting it back doesn't happen unless we tax you. It's just getting stupidly crazy.

The mileage idea comes in part for hybrid and electrics not paying their fare share of road taxes. We now have to pay taxes on labor for services like at a dealer and many other things so they could claim they cut taxes. Where is the no new tax pledge now?
 
feds are a comedy show, tax credit for buying a electric car (ala, Tesla or Prius) then wonder why fuel usage goes down and with it fuel taxes. So now we need to tax those cars with a mileage tax to make up for it.

It's worse than that. The Govt actually subsidizes Tesla.......... Your tax dollars at work !
 
I don't get it. Right now... the more you drive, the more gas you use, the more taxes you pay, since gas is taxed. Will the gas tax go away? I don't think so..
 
We pay an excise tax, my last bill is 550 for my truck and 500 for my jeep, and some hundos for my beaters.

In CT we had (they still have) property taxes on cars. My last bill for my 335is in 2012 was 1800+

Az. has a tax which is a tax on the value. A real shocker on a new vehicle and it is paid during your yearly registration. Registration's of 500.00 are not unusual and they decline each year. This is all part of the tax problem, what can you buy that doesn't get taxed ?, and they keep dreaming up more.
