Okay. I finally got around to trying those new Detailer's Pride samples I had sitting around.

Here's the samples I received:

First, since I have a pic, I'll describe the Premium Surface Shield. It has a thin consistency(read:watery) and a very chemical smell. It went on really easily; a little went a long way. I applied it over Gold Class Paint Cleaner on the Pilot's hood about 2 weeks ago. Initial slickness was way above average, up there with Zaino and UPP. However, it's no longer very slick. This pic was during the last rinse phase of a DP wash 2 weeks after application. I won't make the mistake of talking protection here, but the beads aren't nearly as nice as I'd hoped:

We'll have to see how long the beading actually lasts!

As for the car shampoo, it's just alright. Very similar in sudsing and smell to WG auto bathe.

This might be the reason for decreased slickness? It's a fine wash, but for the money, I'd stick with EO or Gold Class.

And then the Final Gloss Booster. It says it contains carnauba(!) but PSS says nothing of the sort. It is also a pleasant enough product to use, however, not in the sun or on a hot surface. When I tried it on the warm hood, it streaked like crazy! Otherwise, it seems okay. It doesn't really add any gloss, however. Just a touch-up QD.

And that's about it! If anyone else has tried their samples, feel free to chime in. :wavey

I thought the final gloss booster was a very nice product especially when combined with the Waterless wsh. It produced similar results to PBs QD+ although, like you, I didn't notice any carnauba. It did haze before final wipe though!

I received the spray surface shield. Has anyone tried it? When do I apply this stuff and on top of what?

I have used the SSS a few times.

Ontop of UPP it make the surface slick again, and made it look great.

I use it on all my glass, its a great Rain-X type of product.

I also polished the hood of my wifes car, and applied it alone.

It lasted 5 weeks before it was gaging, but it doesnt produce tight beads.

All in all, there is a home for it somewhere in my multitude of supplies.

The Wheel Sealant i didnt like. It was dead in a week.

Premium SS was nice also, but alot like UPP oil wise. Slick until you wash it.

Their Max Wax is really nice, and worth the 25 bucks.

But the bright spot of their line up is their polishes, waterless wahs, and their Gel Tire dressing. I really like these, although the polishes arnt SG or Zaino compatible.
