DP Poli Coat consistency

John,

Do you know if the new DP Poli Coat is any different than the old stuff?

I got a sample of DP Poli Coat to try last year, but I never used it because it just did not look right to me. No matter how long I would try to shake it up the consistency just looked like cottage cheese (for lack of a better term). Is the new stuff any better or is that the consistency it is supposed to be?

I squeezed the bottle to get some of the product out for a picture.

I have the original version and the newer version. The original was definitely had the "cottage cheese" consistency whereas the ones I just bought recently has more of a liquid consistency.
If you still have the original sample, let me assure you it still works very well. It's plenty durable, but I did have a harder time getting it thin. It was also not as easy to remove as other sealants. I'm guessing it's probably because I couldn't get it to spread thing enough. I still like it though.

You're right termigator. I like to think of that batch of the old poli-coat to be more like Collinite #845. The poli-coat formula was fixed pretty quickly, but the ones that were a thick paste definitely still worked.:bigups

I didn't even know they changed it until I bought some more two weeks ago. I originally bought two 16 oz. bottles at Detail Fest last year and had been very happy with them. The consistency definitely made it somewhat tricky to spread thin even with the DA. Here's hoping the newer Poli-Coat's consistency will help in that regard.:yay

The original was good... the updated version is great! Very underrated sealant.
