Door moldings...

My friend took the door moldings off his jetta to respray them and the factory double-sided tape wont come off. He has tried Goo-Gone and De-Solv-It to name a few products, and nothing works. Its just some 3M factory tape; any ideas as to how to remove it?
 
3M makes a rubber like wheel you can buy that mounts on a drill that will take the glue off and will not harm the finish.
 
First you will need a heat gun, or even a powerfull hairdryer to help melt the glue, then using a solvent (with nafta and Isopropanol) and a micro fiber cloth will get all the residue off.
