Door hinges...

I use a citrus based degreaser and a small brush to clean up the real nasty ones. If they are decent, I just wash out the jambs, sills and hinges using an old wash mitt and the soap I'm using to wash the exterior with.

After cleaning, I give them a quick spray of wax where I can't reach and hand wax what I can.

I'm just a weekend warrior. I'm sure there are better - faster ways. That is just how I have been doing it.

Good Luck.

As always I use the least harshest approach possible.
I like to use car wash soap and an old mit or whatever brush fits in the area.
I have used Simple Green, a heavy duty degreaser and have even used Gunk Engine Cleaner on some really bad ones.
After cleaning the hinges, especially with a degreaser, make sure to re-lubricate them to avoid early wear. On my personal vehicles, I use WD-40 because it doesn't leave much of a mess.
