Door handle scratches

I have a 2002 MB C240 that has recessed door areas for each door handle. There are fine scratches in each recess which I assume are from fingers/fingernails raking tha area when the doors are opened. What is the best/easiest way to remove these scratches and what would be the best product to use? I have gone over them in the past with a fine polish that I bought from the supply house where I get my detailing supplies, but I couldn't remove them all the way.

Some products that I come to mind that I would try using in this situation are:

Meguiar's Scratch X

P21s Multi Surface Finish Restorer ( some like to blend 3m Imperial Hand glaze with it)

Flitz metal polish-- says it ok for paint

May take several passes of the above and an application of polish: Meguiars, Menzerna, etc afterwards to completely remove or hide the scratches

You need a more aggressive polish/cleaner and then use the polish you used the first time and finish off with a wax. Then clip your nails:)

Meg's ScratchX is just the thing you need. I got the scratches off around the handles of my mother in law's MB E430. Works great and didn't take a lot of time either. About 2 minutes per handle by hand. :up

I'll second (or third, as the case may be) the ScratchX suggestion. That stuff seems to be made to take care of the fingernail scratches under door handles. That was what I originally bought it to be used for and it has never failed to impress me.

:up to Scratch X. It will remain a standard in my garage. It is always the first thing I reach for to tackle a minor scratch. Love how it won't marr the area surrounding the paint too.
