Well my dad is starting up a new business. He is going to be doing acid staining floors. It is cheaper then carpet and tile and looks amazing. We started doing my grandmas garage floor yesterday and we did her front stoop a couple of weeks ago. here are some pictures so far. We just laid out the design and cut the grooves.

Hope this doesnt sound like an add and gets removed, just trying to help my dad out and contribute to the forum.

I'm interested to see how this turns out with an older, worn concrete slab. I tried to do this on an exterior concrete pad a couple years ago with little success. The issue I ran into was the fact that the pad had weathered. The process of weathering leaches out the same minerals that the acid reacts with to produce color.

I'd imagine that the prep work is going to be a bear. That garage floor will need to be cleaned well enough in order to ensure a good chemical reaction. IIRC the acid stain manufacturers caution the use of muratic acid is it leaches out the necessary minerals as well. Process and pics to document along the way would be appreciated.

Im not quite sure off hand how much things costs- haha I know it depends on how big of an area you are looking to do and then the cost goes up with the number of colors and cuts you want made.

I can find out for you if anybody is interested, or check out his website and shoot him an email.

I just saw this on "flip this house" or one of the many rip offs.

Looked great, they did the sides fo the driveway to give it a brick look. Ill definitely be looking for a guy to do this to my new house.

He is doing a preety big job this week so my grandmas floors are put on hold but im sure he will take pictures of this job too. Ill post them when hes done.

Wow, I completely forgot to post on this thread again.
