Dog scratches?

I just had a client call me all freaked out. He pulled up to a job site and the owners dog jumps on the drivers side door leaving what he says are ..."nail scratch marks."

Anyone have experience with this before?

What can I expect?

His car is a Mazda which from what i have read has some hard clear on it. True?

Thanks

Joe

Don't panic. For the most part those probably aren't scratches, they're rubs, the dog's claws leave a residue on the car but the scratch is probably minimal.

On the other hand, they could be deep enough to require buffing, but I've never noticed Mazda paint being particularly difficult to deal with.

Exactly correct. Don't panic just yet. My aunt and uncle are all freaked out because my cousins dogs scratched up the driver side door . . . . . but they are all as WhyteWizard mentioned are surface rubs so it's basically just on the clear and should easily be buffed out.

If you pull up and your nail gets snagged in the scratches that means they are deep and are beyond buffing for the most part.

hope the dog had its nails clipped recently, sometimes dogs nails can extend past the paw if they dont get them trimmed or run outside enough.

i worked the whole door over with about 2 stages and it all came out for the most part. I didnt want to work to much on it...I will post photos in the click in brag here in a little bit.

thanks
