Does snappy clean break down M105?

I threw my two orange compounding pads that I had used M105 on, in the same bucket of snappy clean and water that my white M205 pad was in. Do I need to toss the white pad, or resort to using it only with M105 now, or am I thinking too far into this.

From here on out I'm thinking I will just get seperate containers to do all my washing in. M105 pads in one, M205 in another, and a final bucket for Klasse, P21s, and souverain hand applied pads, etc. Does that sound good? or should I get a 4th bucket for my souverain pad?

You can *probably* clean the white pad very, *VERY* thoroughly and be OK. But no, I don't believe you're overthinking it.

If you want to do the "soak in a bucket" approach then that's probably a good way to do it. OR you could clean your M205 pads first, then clean the M105 ones (in the same bucket) and then toss it (or use it for M105 the next time).

I wouldn't have a separate one for the Souveran, it's just wax. I wouldn't always want to get KAIO stuff soaked into my LSPing pads, but then I'd just clean the KAIO pad out by hand anyhow. Eh, I just clean almost all my pads out without soaking them, but that's just me.

k I like that method. M205 in first, then M105 pads. Hand wash everything else with some megs APC and/or dawn. I'll give the M205 pad a good hand scrubbing in some APC then and just keep an eye on it to see if anything is causing issues with the paint.

It's sorta like *using* pads with different products- if you want to use M105 on a "M205 pad" (and keep doing it from then on)that's cool, just don't try going the other way.

The abrasives in M105 are so fine that I'd doubt they'd pose a product with your finishing pads. I toss all my pads in 1 bucket for soaking and never had any problems. But, I also blast them with my powerwasher too.

Heh heh, I sometimes think that you and Barry are living is some M105 parallel universe, or maybe *I* am :nixweiss Those "so fine" M105 abrasives can give me fits with micromarring (that admittedly I can only see under the SunGun), so I'm always erring on the side of caution.

I will admit that most times after I pressure wash my pads, I still get residual dust that comes out of them when I throw them on the rotary to fluff after they're totally dry. But regardless, *I'm* content/secure that they're good to go for even the softest finishes.

Yeah, I failed to do that rotary-fluff with one of my cutting pads and, well...you can imagine :o

There you have it...is somebody feeling like David Fermani or like Accumulator? :nixweiss Heh heh, note that I call stuff "Accumulator-proof" not "Fermani-proof" :chuckle: Seems a lot easier for me to [screw] up than it is for some of you Pros!
