Does ONR drying work better with MF's than with WW's?

I was watching Anthony's video (it was great..), and I have a quick question. I've been using Sonus Der Wunder WWMF's to dry the car. I noticed that Anthony used a plush MF. I can understand that WW would be better in a traditional car wash, because one can blot to get rid of the excess water, and the WW has a high capacity for water.

However, the nap of a WW is shorter than that of a plush MF, and since ONR requires some degree of buffing, I was wondering whether using a plush MF would reduce marring which could possibly be caused by the dragging and buffing using WW's.

I've used WW's for ONR drying and have had it work well. I fear at times that the nap isn't enough (even with the small weaves to catch) to prevent excess marr, but have not noticed any marring to really stop.

Lately my routine has been to have two towels. One plush for initial dry and one WW for final streak free wipe.

I actually do the above, too. I use a plush for the initial pass (the gold Meg's towel that comes with their clay kit, actually), and then a WW from Patrick for the final pass.

I've wondered about the marring, too. Especially at the beginning, there isn't much water to be wiped up by the second pass with the WW, so sometimes its going over paint that's more or less sort of dry. But its necessary to get rid of the standing water... otherwise there will be streaks.

Actually, I use the blot method using ONR with no problem :nixweiss

I don't have much (if any) water stragglers on the panel after drying a ONR washed panel, but I QD afterwards anyway, so that'll take care of anything that I did happen to miss.
