Does OCW remind you of any other product?

If you were giving an unmarked spray bottle with OCW in it (knowing only that it's an LSP) what products would you guess that it was?

Would you think it's spray wax or sealant?

Does it remind you of any other product you've used?

I would think that its a wax. Reason being, there's an oil layer on top and a wax layer on the bottom when ocw is left along for a while. I don't know of any sealants that separate like that. OCW kinda reminds me of VM. Somewhat the same color and both separate into two layers.

Not really.

Nothing else I have separates the way OCW does, smells like it and still applies almost like a QD.

All the other spray waxes I have don't really separate except FX-100 and that separates in a very noticeably different way.

It is not an "oil layer" nor does the "wax" settle to the bottom.

Rather what settles to the bottom are the UV absorbers as they are heavier.

Is it bright and reflective, e.g. P21s OR wet and deep, e.g. NB or #26?

It's *very* prep dependent IMO. Don't look for it add any significant look beyond what you have accomplished via prep. It's a fine product because of its' ease of use, but IMO it will not build on your results post prep.

If I had to compare it to a product that I have used before, I would say that it reminds me more of WAUD more than anything else. Not neccessarily in looks so much, but in physical characteristics and application.

I agree, but didn't want to be the first to say it :o At least I'm in good company :hifive:

Both are a spray on wipe off type product that can be used on all surfaces. To me, it looks the same (very nice), but I wouldn't know about durability because I use either one after each wash. I want to try the new Mother's WAUD-like spray wax. I think it'll be similar.

I just can't get myself to think that a spray LSP will be durable especially since everything in my area of the country fades after a few weeks except heavy carnaubas.

But, OCW reminds me of WAUD.

OCW is a legitimate LSP with true wax/sealant durability despite the ease of use. Look at Glanz Wax-that stuff is like water but is also very durable. :2thumbs:

I tried Sun X 2 years ago. I think that reminded me most of the OTC spray wax type products. I have a Valugard spray sealant which is akin to OCW in terms of being a LSP with apparent decent durability. IIRC, compared to Sun X, it is a bit thicker but not so thick as to guarantee smearing or difficulty in removing. It spreads decently to very good and does give a nice gloss, I'd say somewhere in middle of highly reflective and deep and wet. It's not really more of one or the other.

One thing's for sure, a spray sealant is quite convenient and when speed is a necessity, making it the obvious choice.
