Does Meguiars #9 dry white on black trim?

It dries to a haze on paint if left sitting, so yes it dries white on black trim. Most of it should wipe off fairly easily. If not, white eraser sticks work fairly well. I hear peanut oil is the method to use when you can't get it off.

Some erasers on the end of drawing pencils are white, as opposed to pink like on a regular #2 pencil. These erasers can also be bought in block or stick form. Just visit your local stationary or drug store and look for a white eraser.

They don't work miracles, but they are worth a shot. I've also heard that peanut oil is wonderful for this purpose...

White eraser are those Staedtler type drafting erasers which don't leave any residue on the page, and doesn't rub a hole in the paper. They come in regular blocks and in pencil type sticks that you can extend out.

Like these:

White erasers

The simple white erasers (drafting type 2"X1"X.5"?) you get from an office supply store work great on removing wax or polish haze from black trim. Heck, I have even used them on cleaning faded black trim. Now this is on hard black plastic trim textured or not, but not rubber.

That help?

Thanks. I thought it was some detailing product I had never heard of. In a way, I guess it is. Fits right in with the peanut butter as far as being a little out of the ordinary for detailing supplies.

Man, by the time I posted my reply, there were several other posts about eraser sticks. Looks like I must have been about the last to know. (Not the first time, though)
