Does being a "big fan" hurt buisne$$?

BLUELINE 1

Protect and Shine
The reason I ask is because I seen a truck and trailer this morning that was labled as a lawn care company, and both the truck and trailer were covered in nascar decals. There was one certain nascar driver's number all over the place. This driver seems to be the most hated in the sport. Some nascar fans take their racing personal.

This question doesn't have to apply only to nascar, there are many other sports/team decals out there. So if you were a customer and looking for whatever type of business whould that turn you away if it was a team/driver that you just didn't care for?

It wouldn't bother me, but I can see where it could cost someone a job or two here and there. I don't see a problem with having a tag or sticker here and there on the truck/car, but I don't think it looks to good to clutter up the trailer.

If he or she is the most qualified person to do the job, I couldn't care less who they cheer for.

yeah that :bigups

I only refuse to do business with fans of the Yankees. :dnaughty

and the Red Sox, Braves, Marlins, Astros, Nationals, Dodgers, Angels, Rockies, any team that ends with an "X" or "S" , any car or player with a # that is a multiple of 4 :crazy2: :lmfao

It might gain them a job or two the the customer is fan as well. :)

it could do that too :notme:

I myself am a DIEHARD Chevy fan (ford=:swirly: ) but I never mention anything about that to a customer. There are times that I can barely hold my tongue though...

The more you CAN hold your tongue, the better. Same goes for the logos and stickers...neutral is better.

I've got an Alpinestars sticker and a "Hertz Special Car Stereo" sticker on the back window of my Jeep, I've actually gotten a job because of the Hertz sticker, he too had the same speakers in his Yukon, I mentioned it needed a good cleaning and that I was a detailer. Walked away with an exterior detail

I don't have business stickers on yet, but my vinyl guy has my design saved in his computer. All I need to do is figure out how big I want them and decide on a friggin' color and I'll get them printed ;)

there could be stickers on the truck saying bin laden rules !!:D i wouldnt care as long as they do a good job.

I personally think it would be unprofessional to have large stickers of sports teams, etc. If you are sponsored by a company, that is different, but a bias "fan" belongs at home, and a professional businessman belongs in your area of business. This does not mean I won't use someone that is a "fan", but I would be more willing to work with someone who gives off a VERY professional look outwardly.

im with you for the most part... GM fan chevy pontiac ect i dont like ford and most imports but its all about personal preference so i just hold my tongue i also do a lot of mechanical work on cars and some of my detailing clients know this and ask for suggestions... im also a fan of bmw ferraris porshe's and audis

stickers banners whatever, not advertising for your business is VERY UNPROFESSIONAL, i think stickers and banners and logos of any sort are trashy, i would never put anything like that on my car or truck, something like that would be a major turn off for me no matter how good the product or service is, i would want something like that parked out side of my house for lawn service or whatever else....... NO FOR ME
