Hi All,
My buddy, was driving along this road near by my house, in the sticks, and had no choice but to go around the City Truck that was parked on the shoulder and blocking the lanes. The truck had no sign up warning of paint etc...and with his big truck he had to ride on top of the yellow line. See where this is going?
Well, in the end by the time he realized his whole driver side was covered in paint. The bottom part anyways and he wasn't to happy. Knowning I run Buff N Stuff Detailing, he asked me to remove it for him and clean it.
Here is the write up and pics for you.

It turned out great as you'll soon see.
And boy was I suprised with the result that APC produced. I can't find any of this stuff unless off my dealer. I wish I knew where to get it. Worked the best.
Step 1: Evaluate the surface.
Boy it was everywhere. The wheel well, the whole side. Brutal. And it was caked on that was the problem. Nice and thick. I felt so bad for him but I knew I'd be able to take care of it.
The front driver side door!!!
He was freaking when he noticed this!!!
Oh boy. More paint splash at the back!!!
Look at that fender. Its everywhere!!!
Step 2, 3, 4, 5: Paint clean and paint polish.
I tried as recommended DC1, but with horrible results. The Meguiars Blue Clay and Last Touch 1:1 or Quick Detailer was working much better than the DC1 was. I need the clay though and I passed a clay over for probably an hour solid. That hour was merely just taking the big chunks off. So I constantly had to be checking the clay, cleaning it out, kneading it and exposing a fresh new surface. As I mentioned, the paint was thick and it didn't help. But claying it, helped to smooth it out. Even so, the DC1 and foam applicator didn't do to well.
I tried WD40 on the back end, underneath and still nothing.
Then I thought I had this Work Horse All Purpose Cleaner that is safe for paint and can remove wax residue in hard to reach spaces/spots so why not.
BOOM!!! BINGO!!!
This was my product and here are the results.
This product foams up, so I sprayed it, let it foam up and eat away at the paint overspray sort of speak and then just rubbed it off, and off came the paint overspray as well. It was amazing to see this happen. It also worked so well on the fenders.
Unfortunately I ran out of it, since I can only get it from the dealer, I have to wait till this week to see a buddy whom I know work's at Budds BMW to get more !!!
Once I cleaned the paint overspray up, I passed a nice coat of DC1, followed by DC2 and then topped with M21. All applied using a foam applicator and taken off using Meguiars Supreme Shine!!!
Here are the final results!!!
I ran out of APC doing the fenders and will top them off this week. I worked on getting the yellow out of the screws and they came out quite nice after I took this pic!!!
Doesn't look to bad for three passes of APC. I just cut the fender in four sections and worked on each section slowly, one at a time!!!
NO PAINT!!! NO TRICK PHOTOGRAPHY EITHER!!!
BRING BACK THAT SHINE AND COLOUR!!!
The End.
Thanks for looking,
Calogero
