Dodge Ram Clear Coats?

How hard/soft are the new Dodge Ram 1500 CC's? The truck i looked at had severe buffer trails on the hood since the front end was worked on recently. Owner wanted them taken out when I detail it in the next few weeks. This truck is an 06-08 model.

In my experience, the clear coat on Ram's has been anywhere from medium to soft. I've never had one that was difficult to work on though.

I removed HEAVY swirling on a 1500 with a combo of IP on orange and 106ff on white.

Ah, well my truck is pretty darn hard. I use a PC, 5" orange pads and IP to cut through the big stuff (only done this once), and white pads and 106ff for the light swirls twice a year. SIP would probably knock them out no problem though.

on the other hand I have done a dodge E series van and it laughed at rotary/yellow/PG...

hopefully the trucks are different....

It's really crazy to see the variance in everyones experiences.

I used IP on an orange pad at about 1400 RPM's

I followed that up with 106FF on a white pad at speed 6 UDM.

That combo cleared up some severe swirling.
