Do you wash foam pads before first use?

I know you're supposed to wash any terry, micro cloth before using it but what about foam polishing pads? Is Dawn ok to use on them?

I never have and have never had a problem.

Dawn is fine to wash them (that's what I use), but I don't think you need to wash them before using them. Just keep in mind that a brand new pad will be a little stiff at first, but will quickly break down and become soft.

I have not washed them and have had no problems either.

Nope, they come sealed in that nice dirt-free plastic bag . Now if only the other people in my house could keep them that way :angry.
