I never seen this question before.Do you have a favorite shirt hat or pair of pants (even sneakers)that you wear when you start detailing your car or truck? How badsly worn is it?I wear an old YANKEES **** that when i am through detailing you have to PRY it off my body!

Here's a shot of my "battle gear" . . . it's still pretty new, but it's on it's way to becoming a worn-out favorite:

I was fortunate enough to be a beta-tester for the Autopia headgear (thanks again, David). I don't know when v1.0 is to be released, but I plan on picking up another one to keep "nice" to wear to shows, car-club gatherings, etc.

The only VW gear I have is boxer shorts :D

But if I had a VW t-shirt or something, I'd definately wear it during a detail.

Shirts: Polo Shirts or T Shirts (Fave is an old Reebok Shirt that says "No Mercy.")

Jeans: Pair of old Levi's 501s

Shoes: Pair of Old Converse Basketball Shoes

Cap: Either my Autopia Cap or my Mercedes Benz Cap I got at the PowerTrip last year. I usually have it turned backwards. But lately, I don't wear a cap.

Its a weird thing that my dad and my brother used to do actually. I always work on a car wearing a white t-shirt. One day we were out wrenching on an old Nova we were restoring and my girlfriend came over and pointed it out. Since then we point it out that every time we work on a car, we always wear a white shirt. I don't know if its just because you look like you were working harder than you were or what. Anyway, when I detail I always wear a white shirt. Now if Autopia would just make some white Autopia shirts then I would be in business. :D

Shorts & a t-shirt (my "uniform" of choice everyday) -- since I'm semi-short (5'4") with not much of a reach -- have to stand on a stool to reach the center of the roof of the car -- I place a polishing towel on the car so if I lean into it, I won't scratch the paint! :)

Those microfiber clothes sound pretty good to me.... and I really like that Autopia hat!! :up

I detail naked... That way people won't stop and bother me by saying do mine next!!!!!!!

That is a good idea because buttons and buckles etc. might scratch the paint, lol. Anyone know where to find a microfiber jumpsuit?

That would make quickdetailing a 30 second job...Just spray QD, and jump on the car!
