Do you Drink?

as the title says?

also, on the same subject do you drink and detail?

I'm 19 and have drank once, I didn't get drunk, though.

I personally, don't like it, I think it's a waste of time/money/life. I don't plan on drinking when I'm of legal age, either.

I'm not trying to force any opinions or beliefes on and of you guys, and wont judge you based on your answer.

I'm just wondering what all of you think about the subject.

I don't drink...never was big into drinking during highschool or even now that I am in college. I'd rather put my energy and time into things more useful like working or bettering myself. Plus, with having acid reflux alcohol is one of my weaknesses...one drink and I'm in horrible pain. I still don't understand why my friends think drinking is so cool, makes them look immature IMO with the way they act

Funny thing is, I was a bartender a few years back and I'm not even 21 yet :) Being a bartender will scare you straight, that's for sure.

A beer occasionally..

(good) Alcohol is an expensive hobby and I think all of us here already have another more productive expensive hobby to keep us busy.

I drink every now and then. Michelob Ultra is my beer of choice Its like every once in a while. I'll get buzzing on 4 beers easy. Being in the field i'm in, if I do drink, i'm staying there.

21 here... used to drink like a fish (18/19), quit for a while, now im mostly back to moderation.

Josh - I've got acid reflux too and I used to take 3-4 ranitidine tablets before drinking. Took the burn right out for me.

I'm 20. I enjoy a nice beer when I am making dinner (live alone so I do all my own cooking, etc)

On friday or satuday nights I still enjoy getting silly, and having a good time. But I am a funny drunk, and enjoy providing entertainment to all the DD's at partys

Being an Australian, where its legal to drink at 18 years old. I rarely have a drink, maybe the odd glass of wine over dinner.

I guess being 29 now, I have become wiser with my age, because once I turned 18 its an Australia tradition to get so drunk, you cannot stand, and then to have a few more drinks. A stupid tradition if you ask me.

Come back in a couple years and chat about this same subject.

Drinking once hardly makes you a credible subject on this topic.

I enjoy a good brew quite often. It is certainly an aquired taste, much like drinking wine. I love beer, but can't stand most wines. I think you need to develop your taste palate before dismissing it all together. Once you realize that fresh draft tastes nothing like a sour bottled brew, you will be hooked, I guarantee it!

I wouldn't call most macro beer (Bud, Coors, Miller, etc) real beer anyway as it lacks any complexities, even tho I love and regularly drink Miller. Real beers are a craft/art, much like waxes or any of the finer things in life. They are made with complex flavors, ingredients, and processes that that macro stuff just can't touch.

:nixweiss If he doesn't like it, he doesn't like it. I tried smoking once when I was 10 and nearly puked. Never tried it again, never will. Doesn't make me an expert on smoking but so what? Look at all the money I've saved in the 36 years since! :chuckle:

I tasted beer once when I was a kid, Ever since then never again will I taste alcohol, Its just trash for your body.

Proverbs 20:1 Wine is a mocker, Strong drink is a brawler, And whoever is led astray by it is not wise

Proverbs 23:

30 Those who linger long at the wine, Those who go in search of mixed wine. 31 Do not look on the wine when it is red, When it sparkles in the cup, When it swirls around smoothly; 32 At the last it bites like a serpent, And stings like a viper. 33 Your eyes will see strange things, And your heart will utter perverse things. 34 Yes, you will be like one who lies down in the midst of the sea, Or like one who lies at the top of the mast, saying: 35 "They have struck me, but I was not hurt; They have beaten me, but I did not feel it. When shall I awake, that I may seek another drink?"

Please remember for every time you drink there is a evil spirit behind that drink.

Preach elsewhere, please. What did Jesus turn the water into at the wedding? It wasn't Kool-Aid.

“Beer is proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy. -- Benjamin Franklin

All things in moderation. Including moderation.

For hangin' out after a softball game I drink Bud Lite and for goin' out to friends house I will drink Corona Lites but the Coronas HAVE to be ice cold or they taste skunky. For real beer, like with a meal or something, I prefer a Sam Adams, Phat Tire or almost any Heifeweizen(sp?). I recently started getting into wine and am starting to understand and appreciate it a little more. For years I was the DD on all the wine tasting trips that we would take cuz I couldn't stand the taste.....but now.....uh oh!! LOL!!

I enjoy a quality drink - whether cocktail or beer. I drink socially and when cooking out/grilling. Bombay Sapphire/tonic and Johnnie Black/Coke are my choice cocktails. My beer choices vary time to time.

I've been there and done that through the college years. So I can say through experience...have fun responsibly. Always have a designated driver. It's not worth your life or someone else's.
