Do these really work?

Yes it would...but a cheaper option may just be to try the Flash carwash. It has a de-ionise water filter, which you can use inconjunction with with the standard rinse function. It's only £20 from Halfords, bit of a bargain! :D

I've seen those. I'm really hate drying my car. Can you use other shampoos in these things or do you have to use thier stuff? Also, do they work with regards to no water spots after rinsing?

That item is what a lot of car lots use and yes it guards against water spots, and they are effective. Detailers don't use them much because we have to dry the car anyhow. It is good in some situations were your detailing in the sun, but other than that it is just an expensive toy, so I say go for it! LOL.

I've used several of those over the years and they all worked well, I'm not sure if it was that brand or not but I'm sure it works the same just by taking the minerals out of the water.

Last summer I bought the Mr. Clean AutoDry system which is basically a home version of this product. I tried using the de-ionized rinse with another company's soap an it didn't work anywhere near as well.

The CRSpotless just provides the rinse water. Use whatever soap you want.

The Mr. Clean Autodry, which I have and sometimes use, requires its own soap for best results.

To be honest, i'd shampoo as normal, but just use the Flash thing when it comes to drying/rinsing :) But yes you can use any shampoo in the unit :)

Ah, I see the Flash car wash is the Mr. Clean Autodry.

I tried using a different soap in the unit and didn't find that successful. You could certainly just use the rinse feature, maybe not a bad idea as I don't particularly like the soap or the ergonomics of the unit for washing.
