Do I need to shampoo? or Extract? or..?

I TRIED to use some Meguair's Interior cleaner and stain remover yesterday while detailing the interior. The stuff seems to work OK, but here's a problem.....I can't seem to get the crap completley removed because it actually "stains" the seats after it dries. Like the residue is still there.

So....what do I need to do to get these "stains" out? I'm pretty sure the seats aren't actually stained, but just wiping doesn't get the stuff out. I need to suck the crap out.

My seats aren't in real bad shape, just my drivers seat needs a good cleaning, and it looks worse now since I used the cleaner on it.

A buddy of mine has a shampooer, I was thinking about using that....I also did a search and someone who seemed to have a similar problem was told he may need to have a hot-water extraction....or, would it be worth my while to go buy a wet-dry vac and use that to try to suck it up? I could use a woolite-water solution, spray it down, scrub a little bit, and then suck it up with the wet-dry vac.

Thanks for any advice!

BTW- it's for an 01 VW Jetta with cloth seats.

Tusin,

Just wiping the seat down isn't enough to get the cleaning solution out of your seats. I used my extractor today for the first time and I was amazed at how much dirty black water it extracted. You should borrow your buddies extractor, I'm sure it will take care of your problem.
