I just bought a 98 Audi A4 and the paint seems to be in

good shape to the naked eye, but way down deep in

the finish I just don't know. To clay or not to clay??

Run your hand over the paint when it’s good and soapy next time you wash it. If you feel lil bumps that’s a pretty good indication the car would benfit from claying.

Hey whats up? how's it going?

Clay won't hurt anyways. Put your hand in a baggie(sandwich bag) and run your fingers over your paint. If you feel little bumps and stuff you know you need to clay.

*Hint*

When you buy a Clay bar sometimes it comes with a quick detailer for lubrication. Don't use it just use water with a little car soap in a spary bottle. Does the same thing and you can use the QD for what it'd meant for..

Yes. I would, becasue it can't hurt.

Even a BRAND new car (much less a 4 year old one) can accumulate quite a bit of contaminats durring shipping and throughout its life.

So, if you want the best results I would go ahead and clay.

Have fun, and congradulations on the new purchase! :xyxthumbs
