Do I need one more step on this finish?

My last step was Megs. #9. Can I go apply NXT, or is there something I need to do in between? ( like a glaze?)

A BIG THANKS TO EVERYONE! So far everything has turned out great!

Honestly, I would doubt you are going to see a discernable difference between 9 and if you glazed it with 81 and then topped with NXT. Hit it with some NXT and then admire your work. If you want to top it, go for it, but I doubt if you will be able to tell a difference especially on yellow.

Remember, wipe on and wipe off one section at a time!

 Not with NXT. It needs to set up for about 10-15 minutes before removing.

As long as #9 left the paint without any micromarring (not too likely), then you can proceed directly to NXT if you wish.

Yes.

Apply one thin coating of NXT Tech Wax, (using a PC if you have one, with a polishing foam pad on the 4.0 setting).

Allow the NXT to set-up for approximately 15-20 minutes and then remove with a soft, clean premium quality microfiber polishing cloth.

In about a month, Meguiar's will have their new microfiber 6" bonnets in stock. I would highly recommend purchasing a couple of these for removing the NXT. You might also want to purchase a new, clean, dedicated foam pad to place them over.

The new microfiber bonnets are awesome for removing NXT. I'm sending a couple of samples to Bretfraz this week. Hopefully, he will post his opinion on them after using them.

Ya yellow is one of those colors where extra steps wont really reap any added results. If you got the time and the product laying around go for it. But I would rather spend my time driving that beast than applying another unnecessary coat!

Oh sorry :p. Thought he meant by #7.

Newport Viper- I think your're right about the IHG not being compatible with the NXT. It works OK over MEGUIAR'S "glazes", but that's because it's DESIGNED to. I wouldn't throw a 3M glaze in there between your #9 and the NTX.

If you REALLY wanna do something extra, let the NXT "cure" for a day or two (after buffing it off) and then give it another application.

Sorry to jump in here but I have a question for Mike (and anyone else using NXT with a PC). When you say use a polishing pad, which one? I have the W8006 & 9006 - am I right in thinking that it would be the 9006 finishing pad?

Thanks.
