Do I need Klasse AIO on a brand new' 06 car ????

I'm buying a new '06 MX-5 'true red' at a car dealership this Saturday. It's been built for a few months so the paint is cured.

I've read some 'yes and no' on the forum about using Klasse AIO on a new car. I will also apply a few coats of Klasse SG.

Should I just give the car only a good shampoo and apply the KL SG or do the AOI also? (before the KL SG)

I will get the products this week and want to make sure I get what I need.

Thanks!

btw, the paint is cured at the factory. No need to wait 3 months anymore. In my book, it is always a good thing to clean up the paint on brand new cars. AIO will also make it look much better.

CAN YOU CALL THE DEALER TO STOP THEM FROM PREPPING THE CAR FOR YOU ON SATURDAY? 99.99% THAT IT WILL GET SCRETCHED UP.

I'm not sure why people say not to put it on new cars. If I were you, I'd wash the thing as soon as possible after taking delivery, then clay and finish your routine (in your case the AIO and SG). I think this would provide the best protection your new car can get :)

congrats too btw

I agree, let the dealer know if they do any prep on the car beyond checking fluids you will refuse the car. Be there when the plastic comes off the car if you can. Don't give the dealer a chance to mess up your new car. Don't let them put a dealer emblem or license plate frame on it either. /rant

Definitely use AIO, you might even want to clay if the paint is not perfectly smooth.

I'll tell you what, when I pick up my car I am bring clay, Prime Strong, AJT, and Acrylic Glos in my luggage. So do I think a new car needs some cleaning? Yep! :D

When I picked up my 05 Suby Legacy I clayed it and AIOned it. The paint was not smooth and there was some residue from that white plastic film they put on the car to protect it from sun. At a distance car looked great.

I didn't order the car, it's one on the lot.

I will call the salesman I dealt with and tell him to make sure not to wash it.

Thanks for all the help!

They may still do it, I personally called my salesperson and asked him not to put a dealer sticker on my car... but they still put one on. I just took it off myself at home...
