Do I Need A PC For A Brand New SUV?

I just purchased a 2006 Acura MDX silver/ebony although the vehicle is brand new it is a left over and therefor has been in the weather for almost a year. I have already washed/clayed/polished/waxed with meguiars products and am somewhat happy with the results.

I recently purchased the Zaino kit and will be using that this weekend (thanx G35stilz).

Should I go ahead and purchase a PC even though the paint is in good condition?

also is there any videos I can buy to help me learn how to use one properly?

I am looking for a all in one kit for the PC any recommendations?

TIA!

That would really depend on how serious you will be about the car's looks in the future. I would want the paint in exceptional shape, not just good, prior to using a system as expensive as Zaino. In addition it won't stay great forever........ at some point you'll be glad you have the PC to get it back in shape as required.

There are videos here and on other sites showing proper usage of the critter.

Of course my opinion and a quarter won't even get you a phone call! :D

Does any one truely need a PC, or any of these expensive products, for that matter? Unless you do it for a living, then no. That said, if it were *me*, and I was interested in caring for my finish in the best way possible and wanted the highest gloss and an immaculate mar free finish, then yes, a PC is a must. It's all about how good *you* want your finish to look and how much time you want to invest.

It's probably a good idea to have one, your car will slowly get swirls from washes and various forms of contamination, and polishing with Z-PC twice yearly or more is a great way to keep on top of it.

I say get it also. You'll be glad. I own a one month old silver car also and just purchased a PC. Even though i already own a 4 inch portable orbital polisher (only goes up to 3000 speed), I'm sure happy the PC will be there for me when swirls start showing up. Now trying to read up on good swirl removing products. :bigups

i think we have failed to mention to you the following . . . .

try putting zaino on your car by hand, four or five coats. feel that burning sensation in your arm - yeah . . sucks hu . .

now go buy a PC at lows for the 30 day return it no questions asked policy, invest in a polishing pad and a black finishing pad, and try putting your zaino on with that.

arm no longer screams like a little B*&^h

it had me at hello . .

Make sure you get one! I own a SUV too and after detailing with AIO twins + Wax (by hand) I just thought I was going to die..... :)

I'm myself in the market for a PC but I'm looking at the Cyclo as well.

I would say to go find a five year old car that has never been polished, wash it and wax it. If you are happy with the look, which is how yours will look in five years, than you don't need one. But if you are like me and periodically see cars that are so shiny that they make you take notice and wish yours looked that good, then you want a PC. And as previously mentioned, I have found it so much nicer to even apply wax with it.

I'll go against popular belief and say NO. Not required. Your car is silver, brand new and if you properly maintain it regularly, it don't think an orbital buffer will do any better of a job than by hand. If you are taking it through car washes and neglecting it, then I'd step up to a rotary instead. I just don't see a PC doing anything special for this particular application. Watch how you wash it and keep regular coats of wax on it and it will stay looking great for many years.

I just had a 2005 Silver Chevy Malibu(company car) that I put 60,000 miles on and it never had a rotary and/or a PC used on it 1 time and the finish was SHOWROOM PERFECT. It never needed anything other than regular washing, clay and wax. It was driven in the rain, snow and salt too. My new company car is a dark gray Malibu and I have a preminition that down the road, I might want to rotary it with light foam pad to darken it up, but we'll see as time goes by.
