Do BMW's have hard clear like Audi's?

So I detailed my "new" M3 over the weekend. After removing the glaze the dealer applied I could see many swirls. I used IP by PC with a polishing pad and while there was improvement there are still to many swirls for my tastes. I didnt really want to break out the rotary if I didnt have to, and I dont want to remove to much clear. Suggestions?

Also what would be a good filler polish to hide swirls?

I think your BMW will have much softer clear than an Audi. The only Bimmers I've had were a *lot* softer.

I wouldn't worry *too* much about removing too much clear, at least not if it's a one-time thing.

A good polish *and* hide approach might be Meg's #80.

Try a light cutting pad like the LC orange, as I found that IP works a lot better with them than a polishing pad. Also if its a light color car the you might not need to follow up the orange pad with a final polish. I found that combo remove little clear with a PC. Yes #80 would be a good choice to hide swrils or follow your polishing with a glaze like #7.
