Do any of you offer window tinting?

I was just curious if anyone offered window tinting at all. I get a lot of request for it. Most of the request I get actually come from contractors looking to tint the windows in their work vans and trucks so that nobody can see their equipment.

We get requests for it pretty often. I have 2 "tint" guys that I refer our clients too, and he does the same in return. It works out better with this arrangement. It can be a very good source of income. One of the guys can do 8-10 cars/trucks a day with an average price of $80-200, but he has been doing it for 9 years now.

i had a few requests for it so i found a guy that was mobile also and i put it on my pricelist after talking to him about money. now they tell me ahead of time and i call him and work with his schedule. it works out pretty good.

I was actually thinking of trying to find a mobile tint guy and just have him come to me. At first I wanted to learn it myself but it looks to be a pain in the rear. LOL

That sounds like a good idea. Just to put it in perspective, I asked one of the tint guys how long it took him to do his first tint job...his reply was "14 hours on a minivan" I look at window tint they same way I look at auto detailing. Experience comes with time, every automotive paint finish is different, as are windows in vehicles. My girlfiends Ford Escape has the handle/lock mech box on the inside of the rear glass, along with defroster lines, makes for interesting tint job with all the angles that need to be cut out.

Yeah, I agree. I doubt I would have the time to devote to learning it and practicing it.

Thanks Walter.
