discoloration?

i was checking out my friends hood, it's a yellow Nissan NX. the hood was replaced though, and near the bottom you can see a line where a car bra must have been. above that line is very dull yellow paint, below the line is better paint.



is this oxidation? or just paint damaged beyond belief? I tried rubbing some AIO on it but it did absolutely nothing.

You might need something stronger than AIO. As an abrasive AIO is extremely mild and I am not personally sure about how great it works on oxidation unless used by PC. I've tried some by hand on faded paint before and it wasn't as effective as a "traditional" abrasive polish on correcting it.
