A few weeks back I did a full on polish with PB SSR 2.5, VM, and then EX-P. I taped everything off carefully as I could and tried as usual to avoid trim. I finished, dressed the trim with Tiefenpleger(spelling) and buffed off left a nice matte shine. Everything was golden well a week later it rained and had a bad rain storm with high wind. From another post I ended up with a tennis ball sized dent in my passenger door that I'm glad was repaired flawlessly by a PDR guy. After the sun came back up my front plastic chin spoiler, side mirrors, wiper cowl which are a grained texture were smeared with a whitish, grayish streaking. Don't know if it was polish, the tiefen., or what. From a few posts I wanted to try and clean them just not cover them up with a shine. A few people recommneded using A2Z wheel cleaner as a cleaner for plastic. Sounded logical so I busted out a cheapie MF and a toothbrush and went to town. It was looking good. But then I buffed it off and began rinsing to wash my car and the chin spolier and side mirrors were all dull chalky gray and dried out looking it looked horrible:shocked ! So I started thinking of what to use I had some Black again that I had good luck with on trim before but I felt it would just cover it up but then it hit me and I broke out my can of Plexus and read the back, safe for cleaning, polishing, and sealing all types of clear and colored plastic including ABS. All I can say is it looked sweet I brushed and wiped then buffed with a MF and it came back a matte with a slight shine and no sign of the white chalky streaking, its the best and most natural I've seen my exterior black trim since three years ago. Here is a product description

I didn't dress anything on top of it cause I want to see its protective properties and durability. I had some minor blotching which 95% buffed out but needs alittle more attention, but ran out of time. Not only is Plexus great for tinted windows but for radio faces and gauge cluster plastic inside. And I'm sure it has more uses lurking
! I have used Back to Black in the past with good results and Black Again and Tiefenpleger, which I think might be the culprit
!
So if your frustrated with your black textured plastic give Plexus a try, it rocks. I'll check back on durability or hear me preaching about it later
