Disappointing products

So, I noticed that there were a couple other threads on the topic of dissappointing products, but they were about five years old. I would like to generate another discussion on products that did not meet expectations or we were left disappointed with. A lot of new products have been released since those thread back in 2005.

Here are some detailing products I have been disappointed with or thought that they did not live up to their expectations.

Meguiars NXT Generation Spray Wax- terrible product, application/removal is a real pain.

Blackfire Midnight Sun - I do not think it is all that special.

Meguiars G110- Had to get it replaced more than twice in less than a year.

Mothers All Wheel Cleaner- extremly weak.

Discuss.

Multiple occasions, with different techniques, also on different makes of cars of differing years. via G110, mind you.

Correction anywhere from 70% on a '99 BMW, to 5% on an '06 Honda, to 1% on an '07 Maserati :).

*Turtle Wax Ice Polish

*Black Magic Wet Shine Wax (although the foam version is pretty good for a quick wax)

*Mothers Back to Black

Mothers Back to Black - What a useless water-downed product. Back to Crap.

LC Foamed Wool - It's barely "capable of removing 1500 grit scratches." Highly inefficient and no durability.

ONR - Um...works excellent when the car is clean.

I am surprised to see M105 and ONR on this thread, but it just goes to show that not everyone has the same taste. I guess that is why there are a million different detailing products, so that everyone will be happy.

Black Magic Wet Shine Wax

Black Magic is WAAAAAY too hard to buff off. Had a bottle a while back, did a 2 ft. square section of the hood; threw the rest in the garbage!!!

For those in Canada: the Simoniz products. Every item I used was not satisfactory. Cheap... You get what you pay for.

Black magic tire shine-> washes off after one day of rain and leaves the tires brown

Armorall protectant(squeeze bottle version)->shiny and greasy. Switched to Optimum's and its much better.

Simple Green APC(pro version)-> really bad smell that stays around even when diluted.

Yes, the purple ones... I've tried pretty much every wool pad available and at the

moment it's Micro Surface Black Lambs wool pads. Unlike most here, i primarily

work on my own paint jobs and a quality wool pad is extremely important. And my

routine is usually the same; finish sand to at least 2000 then it's a 2 or 3 step

starting with a wool pad w/M105 via rotary.
