disappointed with my last detailing using wax

last month I detailed the car over the course of a few weeks, in the garage, using poorboys polish, megs #7 glaze, and natty's pastewax. When I first back the car out of the garage, it looked great. After driving it that 1st day for an hour, the whole upper half of the car, hood, spoiler, roof, looked like it had some sort of oily film on it. Almost like a thin, even film, of tire dressing. But it wasn't. And the weather was clear and dry.

So after a few days, I washed the car with P21S. Microfibered it dry, and it looked great again. Next time the car was outside for any length of time, I had this haze on it.

Like this morning, I washed the car at 8 am, qucik dried it, looked great. Drove 10 miles to work, parked, and had this spotty hazy film again.

Is this the sun melting the wax?

I also had a problem with the jar of natty's pastewax. About a week after using it, it liquified in the jar. I posted about this last week. Autogeek is sending me a replacement. I'm wondering if the jar of wax was defective from the start, maybe too much solvents or other stuff in it and not enough wax, and that's causing the film I'm seeing ?

Yeah, sounds like there might be compatibility issues between the #7 and the Natty's (which I don't know enough about to say whether you got a bad jar or not).

Same thing happened to my jar of Natty's but I have not had any problems with it on the car. Looked great when I put it on about 10 days ago and still looks good.

Autogeek also replaced mine for free and I noticed it came in a different kind of jar ( I don't know if that means anything or not :nixweiss By the way, I was able to get the wax back together by warming it in a pan of boiling water, then I put the top back on and shook it a little. Put it on the shelf and now it's back to normal.:nixweiss

Maybe you didn't get all the #7 off. Usually it'll "skin" then you wipe, wait a little bit for it to "skin" again then wipe, that stuff usually takes some work to get completely off and it sounds like you topped it before getting all of the #7 off.

Way to many people are having a problems with Poorboys, must have been a bad batch for sure. Give Zaino Z2Pro a shot if your tired of waxes, it looks like a good clear nuba to me, with the durabilty of a tank, lol. You will NEVER have the same hazing issues with Zaino if you just polish or use a cleaner like AIO or p21s and then z2pro.

I had the same thing happen to me when i used #7 a few years ago...it was like there was a clear gum on my paint in some areas.

Like others ahve said....i say that #7 was the guilty party and probably not the wax.

thanks.

have zaino, the older z2 with zfx but not the pro. Had been using it but wanted to go the wax route this time... thanks to reading all the posts here by you guys. It's all your fault :p

with the #7, in some areas I put it on heavy just to see the effect but for the most part it went on thin, then I used a large cotton bath towel to take the #7 off on a first past, then followed with a MF towel. It came out looking great, i'm pretty sure all the #7 was wiped off but who knows.
