diluted baby soap for leather?

I've heard people use diluted baby soap in a spray bottle to clean their leather. Does this sound crazy? Has anybody tried this?

I have heard there was a certain kind of Johnson&Johnson baby shampoo that worked really well on leather steering wheels, but this was a few years ago.

I suspect that it could be used because it is mild and only slightly acid in pH but why would you want to use baby soap (or baby shampoo) when there are so many good leather cleaners on the market?

Maybe they were talking about the "no tears" baby shampoo??

The leather in my car usually isn't too dirty, so I use a damp MF.

I am looking for a good leather cleaner. I used tanner's preserve before. It smelled GREAT but didn't do such a great job cleaning.
