Different Polishes on Same Pad?

Let's say I am using an orange pad with Optimum Polish and want to bump it up to Optimum Compound, can I use the same pad or do I need an unused pad?



I know not to mix waxes and polishes on the same pads, but I was wondering how this applied to polishes and compounds alone.

I never do. I know a lot of people do but I am picky and like to start witha fresh clean pad every time. I would say in your scenerio it would be alright but if you went from a compound to a polish I wouldn't.
