differences in clay

Just a quick question. What are the differences between the gray colored Sonus clay, and the green colored clay?

Thanks

The grey Sonus BLOCK clay is a medium duty clay, whereas the green Sonus SFX Ultra-Fine is the finest clay made.

We have decided to stop making Sonus BLOCK because sales of the Sonus SFX Ultra-Fine are 5:1 over BLOCK. The big difference is that Sonus SFX Ultra-Fine will not remove paint overspray or very heavy oxidation. Rather than have the confusion of two clay products, we decided to simply drop BLOCK and recommend a body shop grade clay when it is necessary.

Sonus BLOCK is on clearance for $12.95 for two 100 gram bars with a plastic container:

Car Detailing Clay & Overspray Remover - Sonus Block Detailing Clay Bar

We have 25-30 units remaining.

Is Elastrofoam more comparable to the Block or SFX Ultra-Fine? Or is the difference between Elastrofoam and clay too great to make a comparison?

On a side not, I have always liked the Block Clay, I will miss it.

The Ultima Elastrofoam is middle of the road, it is about dead center as far as aggressiveness between the Sonus Block and Sonus SFX Ultra Fine clay.

I'm new so, I'm just now seeing that the Block clay was dropped. David mentioned a body shop grade clay, when something stronger is needed. Could you help a newbie out and recommend a good "body shop" grade clay.

Thanks.

Quick Detailers & Clay Bars

Danase Medium Grade Detailing Clay (200g) should be just what you are looking for.

It's easy to randomly recommend a clay but I find it best to find out a little more about what you are working on first as you always want to use the least aggressive first.

If you could give me a little more information regarding your surface and the shape it is in as well as the severity of the contamination, I would be more than happy to help recommend the appropriate clay for your situation.
