2 weeks ago i polished with AIO

then applied Chemical guys extreme top coat right after then imediatly topped it with collinite 845 IW

then about 5 days later it started raining and has rained constanly for 10 days and this is what my beading looks like today

In comparison here is my other car

#80

#81

#26 few coats over a few months

topped with 845 IW about 3 weeks ago and outside in the 10 days of rain

Right after i did the first car I called Paul at Chemical guys and asked about applying IW imediatly after their topcoat and he felt the strong solvents in IW would probably remove some of there Top coat sealant and I should have applied IW first then topped with their top coat sealant

So i figured i would at least still have the protection from AIO and the 845IW but this is what it looks like in the top picture after 2 weeks and all this rain

I say that even if the IW did away with the Top Coat that the IW should still be left. Maybe the mixture of the two products isn't a good thing. How old is the paint?

the black is a 2003 toyota

the blue is a 2005 scion tc

maybe it the different slopes on the 2 hoods

maybe its just colecting on the horizontal areas differently

it looks abit tighter now as its still raining abit heavier

not under any trees

something isnt right its not the way either top coat or IW usually look after 2 weeks

maybe ill try IW under top coat next time

Try washing the car then note the beading. If there is a lot of accumulated grime from several days of rain, it will affect how the car beads. Once you wash it, the beading will probably be better.

I think you were right Scott

I went for a drive in the rain and now its beading like mad

must have had a layer of dirt from sitting all night in the rain
