Here's a "project" that I did last weekend. My friend's AE92 just had a cheapo repaint job and the painter didn't paint it correctly (orange peel, pinholing and some runs), he also didn't sand it well (stopped at 1200 or so), and introduced A LOT of buffer swirls (from a wool pad running at around 1500RPM up)... Well, he paid $180 for a full car repaint when a typical rate locally runs about $550... So go figure...
My friend asked me if I can fix the paint a bit. He sanded (note, not WET sand) most of the car with 1500 sandpaper, needless to say, it was all scratched up.
I had to re-wetsand the panels with 1500 then 2000... This is how it looked after sanding (we didn't have a sanding block as well), Best I could do with a soap dish cover as a block hehe.
After 2 passes of Diamond Cut + Wool on a rotary running at 1000RPM.
After: (2 passes of wool + 2 passes of W7000 cutting pad)
We didn't have any polish to follow up the Diamond Cut (such as DACP or FI-III), but my friend is pretty happy with it...

Might do some DACP + IHG next weekend... We'll see...
