DG polishing routine (601)

I use 601 before the first coat of 105. It is a nice product to use, it spreads nicely and goes on real easy. I don't remove before applying the 105.
 
the 601 is a cleaner catylst product....it does help 105 and 111 last longer...but it is not really needed ....I use it for the winter sealant coat and seems to really help make it last ...during the summer I do not use it since the elements are not bad....



I noticed a longer slick period also with the 601....



If you have fresh cleaned paint you can skip it for the summer...but if you have a harsh winter enviorment..I use it...



if you use it..just use on first coat..no need after that..also just wipe it on and leave and apply 105 or 111 right over the 601 residue....

I find that 601 makes 105 go on even easier/smoother. Other than that I can't tell any other difference. It is supposed to increase durability which has not been a problem.

Yes..I do the wait between coats of 105...especially if it is humid out....seems like sealants set up longer during humid weather....

A fellow member of the local Subie club had me detail his WRX last fall. I used 601 and 111. He asked me to go after it again just a couple of weeks ago, and to my surpise, it still beaded well when I washed with ONR, obviously still protected. I asked if he'd been using the Aquawax I gave him (I had a few oz. left in a bottle and gifted it), and he said, nope, never got around to it. Touchless washes and the occasional hand wash, he said . . . no booster, no QD.



Color me impressed.

Do any of their polishes have fillers ? I'm not looking to hide swirls but some very light spider web type stuff. Its there I'm the only one who notices , so I was hoping maybe #111 would hide them.
 
I seen no hiding abilities from any of their sealants.....Thier SMR had a little hiding abilities when done by hand...

I noticed that is some different with and w/o #601.With #601,the results seem to have a sharper and clearer reflection.
