DG FC&S opinions

I've got my truck done with 1 coat of Megs 21. I like it . And therre will be more coats/laters to come .

QD's however is what I can't decide on. I have some FK 425 & FC&S.

If you are looking to use a QD'r for an after wash spray for streaks, gloss enhancement, no doubt that 425 is best. However, for mild cleaning, contaminants, FCS would be a better choice.

There is nothing wrong with FC&S or 425 and there are others even better than those

Work out what you want out of a QD.

Will the QD work with my sealer of choice?

Do I want maximum slickness retention with gloss enhancing properties or one with gloss enhancement and more protection

I'm a slickness and protection person so the aussie made QD/Sealant is my #1 choice, though Driven to Perfection Quick spray concentrate and FC&S are second and third

haven't used the 425 yet as i have 2 gallons of fc&s (actually the 521 marine version). i've read that the duragloss line works in harmony with the other family products. the 521 cleans well, won't strip my wax, leaves a slick surface and is price friendly. its also great on windows and rims.

I have both and I like both of them. On my black car with Natty's blue, FK425 seems to streak a lot and takes a lot of wiping. Whenever I replace the carnauba with a sealant (NXT or DG105), FK425 is fine. Great slickness and gloss.

DG521 is also a great QD. Very slick. Works on my nuba and sealant.

I *much* prefer the Duragloss to the FK.

ZaneO,

Why do you prefer the FC&S? I use the FX425, and like it a lot. However, I was planning on trying the FC&S or 521 Marine Detail Spray.

Do you feel that the Duragloss add more "POP"? Does it also have "anti-static" properties? Anything else?

Anyhow, I would appreciate hearing your take on the products.

I was more than diappointed in FK425. It did very little for me. Minimal appearance difference and no significant "anti-static" properties over anything else I was using.

FC&S however did give a nice visual enhancement and has great initial slickness. The fact that it's available locally and very affordably makes it that much better.

Just my findings. YMMV

Hmmmmm, quite the opposite as Zane. I didnt care for its lack of initial slickness....

I used it only one time, and just came to the conclusion, "I dont like this"......

Ive recenlty tried the 1Z Vinyl-Rubber Care + Protectant 'Tiefenpfleger', which initially held some of the same properties as the DG FC. But by the time I had completed the entire truck, it really had transformed into a product I like.

Holy Cow!

Couldn't possibly disagree more.

FK1 425 is a huge eye opener for me. Noticeably better than Z6 that I had been using for many years. A clear and noticeable improvement in gloss/wetness.

Definite improvement in how long it takes before my car becomes dusty sitting in the garage.

Better slickness as well.

It is one of the best detailing products I have ever used. :2thumbs:

That's what I was expecting from the reviews, but I just didn't see it. I'll revisit it one of these days and see if it turns out differently.

Patrick, what I mean by initial slickness is that the slickness doesn't last - it has no significant durability.

Well, 425 certainly isnt durable as its a QD, but as far as slickness goes, I have found it to be fractionally slicker than FCS, just with a bit less cleaning power.

For between $20-30, you cant go wrong with either. I like the marine version better and after I added a few ounces of AW, it was even better. :bigups

I just don't get it!!

you have them both, try them and see what YOU like!
*cough* some people just like to have their opinions given to them ;) *cough*

Personnally, I love FC&S. I'll mix a little AW with it to give some durability.
