Dg 101/111

I seem to be getting a better look doing a 101 followed by 111 , than I do a 601/105, Deeper , wetter , slicker.

I talked to Bill @ DG yesterday and asked about cleaning ability of the 3 major products. On a scale of 1-10 he claimed the following. 10 being the most aggressive cleaning ability.

#111 = 0/1 (Pure polish)

#101 = 5 ( an AIO type of product)

#105 = 10 ( lasted AIO type of product.)

He said they still sell more 111 & 101 than 105

Bummer. I just bought my first bottle of 105. I'm going to use Menzerna SIP and follow up with either PCFusion or Menzerna FPII. I'll do an IPA wipedown after. Could I go straight to 111? Or 501/111. The multitude of combos is confusing since I haven't figured out if there is a consensus on the one that most people use.

That's strange considering I get *much* greater cleaning ability from 101 than 105. 105 is almost nonexistant IMO, and anyone expecting AIO abilites from 105 will be sorely disappointed. By hand, 101 works far better as an AIO type product. I just don't understand where he is getting that. Does he use his own products? lol

I find 111 to be very sterile looking...almost like Klasse SG. Gives a very silvery reflection/sheen...reminds me of Zaino, several versions/updates ago. I find 105 to look significantly wetter, glossier, and much more "carnauba-esque"...lasts longer too! I gave up on 111 after 105 came out. I think 105 is better all the way around.

so, if you needed the increased cleaning ability, it would be best to use 501, then top it with 111 to increase the shine? sorry for all the questions - i am just trying to figure out the DG line.

I have used 501 and then topped it with 105 and been very pleased... While I think 111 is a fine product I am much happier with the 105 and would suggest that over the 111 any day of the week.

1. If I'm buffing my car with SIP and FPII, do I need to use 501/601 before I apply 105?

2. So use 501 instead of 601 since it's for marine use and it works better than 601? Then top with 105?

Sorry for the questions, still trying to get a handle on the correct product & procedure.

Thanks

Once you are done using your polish of choice (Menzerna in this case:up ) use the 501. You will be surpised at how well in cleans the paint.

I apply 501 with a white lc ccs pad and even after polishing the pads get very dirty. After that just apply your lsp of choice and 105 is very nice on top of 501 but to be honest, if you have done the previous steps with care any lsp at this point will make it bling.

Cool. Thanks for the advice. Since I'm only using a PC7424 on a vette clearcoat, I'll be out there for days. I'm going to use LC CCS Orange with SIP first. Then either FPII or PCFusion. I thought you were going to say that I could go straight to 105. I guess the first 2 steps is what will take all the time. 501 and 105 should be quick, right? DG by hand or can I use 7424 on 1 or 2?
