I drove up to Ann Arbor, Mi to detail my 2 of my Subaru (via nasioc.com) friends car. One car is a 00/01 4 Door RS with rally decals. The other is a 98 Outback Sport Wagon converted to a full V3 Sti with a freshly rebuilt 2.5 shortblock instead of the standard 2.0 (very fast car!)

Both cars got the same treatment

Dawn wash

Clay

Wash

Dry

DACP (the OBS got it x 3 on the CF hood)

NXT Tech Wax (including on the windows)

Exhaust tips cleaned with #0000 Steele Wool and Glass Cleaner

Interiors got a 1:20 mix of TOL Interior Cleaner on the bad carpet spots

Stoners on the windows

303 on the trim

Meguiars Hot Shine on the tires

The RS was in worse shape than the OBS. The clay picked up alot of contaminants. But then again, the OBS spent most of the summer in a garage being rebuilt and the RS is a daily driver

First, the RS Pics:

More pics to come. . .

The Outback Sport is affectionalty know as "The Turbo Fridge" due to the color and shape/size of it.

Now on to teh fridge

Being a white car, the pics don't show the "dinginess" of this car. This pic is the best that I could get of the during. You'll notice the left side is greyish/brown and the right side is bright white.

Cars look very nice, but I see applicators and wash mitts laying on the ground :nono

The applicators (polishing pads) were face up on the ground after washing them, so that they could air dry after i spun dried them on the PC and I brought 2 wash mitts so, 1 for each car.

Great job but those cars look to ricey to me!

I'm not a HUGE fan of the decals on the RS, but I think the OBS is very sharp. The CF hood, wheels and exhaust are all functional. Per the blue-sun dictionary functional = not rice, non functional = teh rice

damn zaneo, got to it first. i was thinking the same thing ;) +

nice work on the scratches and the tips. but rice nonetheless :nono

how about some V8's :bounce

lookin good... the reflection of that brick house on the carbon fiber hood after using the polish is incredible... really stood out to me... take a look @ the b4 and afters...

nice cars also... good job on the details

Thanks, I appreciate it. White and silver are hard colors to make look really nice. The pictures of the wagon really don't do this car and the detail justice at all.

The OBS was running low 13's BEFORE the 2.5 block was put into it. I'd imagine that it will run mid to high 12's when he takes it to the track (he had about 800 miles on the rebuilt motor so he can't take it to the track just yet)

nice jobs! and nice seat belt pad. :D

and does the RS have a turbo? sorry, i don't know much about subarus except they are 4 cylinders, all-wheel drive, and can kick butt in the WRC. :xyxthumbs

im pretty sure the rs dont have turbos, atleast my impression was that no scooby had turbo, until the wrx, and the wrx sti came over here... atleast no scooby unless it was imported here (jdm) i could be wrong tho.

The RS doesn't have a turbo, but like I said above, the OBS has a Version 3 STi motor/tranny swap. Read: Turbo baby!

Looks awesome!!! Good job!!! :up

How and what did you clean and polish your exhaust tips?? The Acura I just bought has the tips like it wasn't supposed to be chrome.

I used #0000 Steele Wool and generic window cleaner. Spray the tips with the window cleaner and scrub with the steele wool. I repeated this 2 times.
