Detailing products in 42 degree C heat.

While its very cold where most Autopians are now, I have a different problem here.

It is going to be 42 degree C here tommorrow, it was 40 today.

Should I bring all my waxes etc. inside the air conditioned house. Will the heat ruin them?

They are in a garage, but man it gets real hot in there.

Okay Myles, to demonstate that the metric system failed in this country (or at least for me)--what are we looking at in farenheit? 95-100 degrees? If so, I think you should be okay--any paste wax may get pretty soft, but keep the product level in the can and there shouldn't be any problem.

As you say, our problem is now the cold. The EO detailer I left in my trunk is frozen solid. The Mother's detailing spray in wife's car has not frozen. Curious.

I am wondering what others think about your dillema with the heat.

Wish I had your problem--freezing my you-know-what off right now

Waxes, polishes, QDs, no worries. I do have some 3M Mag and Aluminum polish that used to be in a more solid form, but the heat turned it into a thick cream. It still works fine though. I keep all of my stuff in the garage from March through November and it can get near 40c in the Summer and I've never had any problems.

For chewy and all other "non metrics" it will be 108 degrees F tommorrow.

Should i still take them inside.

You should probably take them inside.

I leave all my detailing stuff in the bed of my truck and it gets pretty hot in there and I never have a problem with any of them. For long term storage though you might want to get them out of the garage.

It'll probably be in the 30s tomorrow here... :)

I'll have to wait a few more months to get my 100 degree, 100% humidity weather I have come to love

well guys we had 112 degrees F here today. 2nd hottest in 60 years for Melbourne.

I put my clay bars in the fridge. They were already very stcky (melting) and covered everything up with a blanket.

I felt like i was treating them like my babies (which my waxes and polymers are:rolleyes: )

What id do for 10 minutes of 30 degrees F right now. :sosad

The reason why I was worried is, I have seen a case where a tin of fuel close to the roof of a shed went bang because it got so hot. More than 112 F i think !!!
