Detailing Music

What's your favorite artist/album to listen to while doing a job?

Led Zeppelin

Green Day

Pink Floyd

Metallica

Chevelle

Flaw

Megadeth

Disturbed

Korn

All albums by each. This type of music keeps me pumped up/motivated... plus these are some of my favorite bands.

This Providence

Chiodos

Boys Night Out

Circa Survive

are all my current favorites for my detailing...

If you are speaking of detailing professionally then the majority of music mentioned here would not be my first choice. If you are detailing your own personal car on your own property then more power to you.

Personally if I am detailing where others can hear my music I usually listen to smooth jazz music, which I also prefer if detailing where others can't hear it.

iPods, along with other similar devices, provide you the opportunity to listen to the music you like without infringing on the music taste of others.

I wear headphones while working. Cuts down on people coming up and asking me really obvious questions like "Do you detail cars?" and "Do you detail on site?"

Led Zeppelin, Rush, Kansas, The Doors, Robert Earl Keen, The Rolling Stones, Genesis (as in from the 70s when they were good), Van Morrison, Eric Clapton, etc.

I usually listen to Jazz. Wayman Tisdale, Mike Phillips(yes there is a Jazz artist with that name), Alex Bugnon, Boney James and some others. When working on my own cars it's usuall a variety of R&B both current and old.

I would have to say that I am not the norm but it is good to see that we have a few fellow Zazz lovers. my favorite would be Chris Botti, that dude can carry a tune. he is one of the few people that I have seen in concert that actually sounds better than on a cd. for some reason the cd does not capture the total sound, hard to explain guess you have to hear him. other music that I listen to is alternative, STP, Foo Fighters, Soundgarden just to name a few.

haha you gotta wear those BIG ones so the peeps see you and DONT bother you lol

I usually keep the radio in my car on and stick with Radio 1 or 2 (BBC stations). CD wise I'm kinda all over the place - Jamiroquai to Def Leppard, Black Eyed Peas to Bon Jovi with some jazz and Rat Pack thrown in for good measure - nothing better IMHO than detailing on a nice day to some classic Sinatra or contemporary rap or even good old Rock & Roll.

Currently it's a mix of Thursday, Emery, Flight 409, and some Hidden in Plain View

you have a good taste in music.... ive been listening to panic! at the disco recently. Havent heard of flight 409.

I agree with some of the others.... either smooth jazz, or I put on the local country music station. Most folks don't have a problem with country since it tends to be neutral enough. They may not want to listen to it as a choice, but they won't complain about it either.
