detailing log

anyone have an excel file or some other file to keep track of dates and products used on clients cars?

I keep a log of client name, car worked on, service, date and price. It takes two seconds to set up in Excel.

This way I can keep a running total of income from detailing.

If I were a pro, I would use QuickBooks or something so I would have a more sophisticated financial snapshot of the business.

yeah I have a log too... it consists of name... type of car... yeah.. color.. what I did.. and how much I made.

Pretty easy to do. I would reccomend it. I havent gone as far as recording what products I used though.

I do mine in Access. Client name, addy, phone #, car 1, car 2, car 3, car 4, recent details, prices on recent details. Also, I set it up so that I can dump just the name and addy into xmas cards, as a way of reminding people up here while I'm gone :).

I have something sort of like a log, but it is set up a bit differently.

I keep it all in a word document and it includes:

Name:

Phone Number:

Date:

Vehicle:

-Make

-Model

-Year

-Color

Exterior:

-Products

-Notes

Interior:

-Products

-Notes

Follow up:

I am actually going to make up a similar sheet, but without personal information on it, including pictures, products, and prices to show prospective clients what their money will buy them for certain details.
