Detailing interior glass.

Most of us just give the interior glass a wipe down. I've been using Klasse AIO on my interior windows for years, so most of the time I only need to use a QD to clean them and leave them streak free.

What are you guys doing on the interior glass of you clients vehicles? I haven;t been doing it to my clients (I like to use some products ont he extrior though: CK VM, Zaino sealants, ect). Sometimes when I just wipe down the interior glass with glass cleaner, i feel like more should and could be done to keep it well. What do you guys think?

I just use QD on interior glass. I read somewhere that you shouldnt wax or seal interior glass, so I've never tried anything other than QD on the insides. I've never had a problem with Adam's QD and window tint film either.

Ive been doing my interior glass for years with KAIO (don't use it much on exteriors and have a huge bottle of it). Haven;t seen any adverse effects, but I sometimes wonder if its a safe cleaner for tinted windows. Ive never had a car longer than 18 months so Im not able to follow up on its long term effects on my tinted glass.

No offense, but I think treating interior glass with something like AIO is just a waste of product. Any good glass cleaner (Ive become a fan of SIG) is sufficient.

Yeah, but come to think of it, laying down one sealant is sufficient as well, but we all know we don't. There's a little extra clarity and crispness added to glass (especially my tinted glass) when a product like KAIO is used after invisible glass.

But its true, IG is enough, just wanted to see how everyone else felt about going that extra mile.

I've started using Surf City Clearly Better on my interior tinted windows. I prefer it over SIG.

Do you think that LSPing the inside of your glass could attract dust and/or a foggy film from the oils?

I would assume an LSP would streak when lowering the glass, attract dust, and such. I haven;t had that happen, but Klasse AIO is more of a cleaner with light protection (acrylic). None the less, I kinda get the general concensus of eveyone so I'll just keep quick detailing the interior glass.

I know we're talking about KAIO and SIG but I've had good results with a MicroTex MF towel specifically for glass and Mothers Glass Cleaner for the interior. As long as the MF is maintained properly, it really buffs off streak free even if the client is a heavy smoker.

Of course, there are some exceptions.

Just my two cents.

I'm using intregritydetail's method now, and it works great. I'm too lazy to find the thread with the pics he has, but basicly you wrap an MF over the business end of a squeegee. Spray some SIG or Sprayaway glass cleaner on the MF, then apply the MF wrapped squeegee to the glass and drag it down. I'm able to get the glass all the way to the bottom of the rear window this way. It works well. I believe he uses this towel...No-Lint Glass Towels. Eurows have been working well for me.

Like many I just use IG, but this little tool with a lint free MF makes reaching some difficult places much easier:

Glass Master Pro

I picked up a cheaper version at Bed, Bath, and Beyond a few years back for $10. Instead of using the supplied bonnets I just trap a lint free MF between that and the glass and it's much easier to do hard to read places like mini-van windows, hatchbacks, etc..

Hmm...

I can never get my windows completely lint free :(

Is there some kind of secret?

I used SIG, and the glass towels from eshine and also the autopia glass towels and I still get lint.

I like Werkstatt Prime on the inside of windows, which of course is the same or similar to KAIO. I have also used ZAIO with great results. Very cool I am not the only one!

I bought a gallon of Meguiar's Glass Cleaner concentrate and it dilutes 1:10. This is, by a wide margin, the best glass cleaner I've ever used. It works equally well in the home too. I'm down to my last two gallons and will be looking for another jug soon.

Have you been doing this to your customer's vehicles? Any issues with window tinting?

Glad Im not only one.

Windows have always been a big problem for me. I've used SIG and a number of other products but all I ever seem to do is move the grime from one place to another or swirl it around in a pretty pattern for me to see later with the right glare on the glass.

I just did my windows last night on my personal car and thought they looked fine until the drive in this morning with the sun in front of me. Man oh man those were some streaky windows.

Stoner's makes something like that now. It's 15 bucks at my local O`Reilly. But they are doing a promotion to buy it and get a can of SIG free. Works out to about 12 bucks if you figure in the free SIG.
